ZANA DOBROSHI, M.D., PH.D.

The first psychiatrist in Kosova to receive the title of Doctor of Science leaves her homeland, starts from scratch, and becomes equally successful in the United States.

Zana Dobroshi, M.D., Ph.D., was born and raised in Kosova, and received her medical degree from the University of Belgrade School of Medicine, Yugoslavia, in 1972. Subsequently, she received her doctorate degree in Child Psychiatry, with studies in Child Development and Creativity, at the University of Zagreb, Croatia, in 1982. At age 25, Dr. Dobroshi was one of the youngest specialists in Neuropsychiatry in the country and the very first psychiatrist in Kosova to receive the title of Doctor of Science.
