A doctor of mathematics with Albanian roots visits the country—and this lifechanging trip propels him to launch an Albanianinspired program at a Massachusetts college.

Success is a relative term, measured not merely by the goals one attains, but also by the will one has to strive for them. At least that’s how Peter Christopher, Professor of Mathematical Sciences at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in Worcester, Massachusetts, defines it. He received his doctorate degree in mathematics, specializing in graph theory and group theory, from Clark University. He has more than fifty years of teaching experience and is a member of the Mathematical Association of America. In 2008, Christopher received the WPI Trustees Award for Outstanding Teaching. In addition, he has actively supported Albanians and Albanian culture through various research projects, and introduced an Albania-centric program at WPI.
