Self-made businesswoman honors her father’s legacy while making her mark among New York society.

Lumi Hadri-Devine is the daughter of one of Kosova’s most prominent intellectuals and dissidents: the late Academic Ali Hadri, whom she reveres. He dedicated his life to his people’s freedom and now he is widely recognized as an icon in Kosova’s history, immortalized in statues and remembered in the names of several national institutions. Her mother, Nazmije Qata-Hadri, was a pioneering Albanian female teacher in Kosova. Hadri-Devine was groomed for academia by her parents and by her late brother, Dr. Flamur Hadri. Throughout her life, anytime circumstances allowed, she returned to her studies.
