George Laska has a rich military history— he was drafted into the Army Air Corps in 1946 and
served in World War II—but when he stumbled into teaching, he found his true calling.
Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, to Albanian immigrants Michael Laska and Efterpi Kotnami, Laska grew up practicing what his parents preached about getting an education. Having been incapable of doing so themselves, they were adamant about their four boys becoming something in the land of opportunity.
