The first Miss Michigan feels honored to be able to compete for the title of Miss USA as an Albanian-American.
Miss Michigan and contender for the Miss USA crown in 2014, Elizabeth Ivezaj was born and raised in Michigan by Albanian immigrant parents
hailing from Montenegro. It is her parents who gifted Ivezaj with beauty, brains and the drive to succeed.
“My biggest inspiration in life comes from my family. My grandfather overcame many hardships. He lost both of his parents at a very young age and once he started a family of his own, he packed up everything he had to move to the United States in 1968 to make a better life for his wife and kids” says Ivezaj. “Their struggles have driven me to pursue my dreams and strive for success. I have been given so many blessings in life and I intend to take advantage of all opportunities that come my way.”
