The Sela story is one of an immigrant family who achieved success by upholding the traditions of the old country and incorporating them into a new life. Baudin Sela, head of the family, was raised in Dibra, Macedonia—a region praised for hardworking people who value education, family, and dedication to success— and left his hometown in 1971, after graduating from high school, to pursue higher education in Western Europe. His love of knowledge led him to expand his horizons and ideology by obtaining Swiss and German degrees in history, political science, and foreign languages. During his life in Western Europe, Baudin was in close contact with many influential Albanians of the times, and they helped shape and strengthen his political and philosophical beliefs.
