B. Bix Aliu, soon-to-be Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Podgorica, Montenegro, was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. His parents, Albanians from Zajas, Macedonia, immigrated to the United States in 1960.
