Avni Mustafaj

As the Executive Director of National Albanian American Council, Mustafaj devotes his daily life to advocating on behalf of Albanians in the Balkans.

There are few Albanian Americans whose daily job entails promoting awareness of and resolutions for Albanian issues in the United States. Avni Mustafaj, the executive director of the National Albanian American Council (NAAC), is one of them. He feels fortunate to have served in this capacity since 2006, working mostly in two major areas—Washington, D.C., and the Balkans. Mustafaj also manages the NAAC Hope Fellowship program, a United States Agency for International Development (USAID)- funded women’s leadership and empowerment program.
