A registered nurse nurse working in one of the nation’s top hospitals, Dedivanaj is also the star of ABC’s wildly popular series NY Med.
Marina Dedivanaj is a critical care registered nurse in the emergency room of New York Presbyterian Hospital, and one of the stars of ABC’s eight-part documentary series NY Med and Discovery Health and Oprah Winfrey Network’s NY ER.
Born and raised in the Bronx, Dedivanaj was one of four children in a loving, middle-class Albanian-immigrant family—one that was rich with cultural traditions, but lacked education and financial security. Yet that never prevented Dedivanaj from pursuing her passion for medicine. She graduated with honors as the valedictorian of Dorothea Hopfer School of Nursing in 2004.
