Flamur Cani

Captain Flamur Cani, a twenty-four-year veteran of the New York Police Department, remembers September 11, 2001, well. He was called to the site of the World Trade Center and later, the Staten Island Landfill.

“It was a total disbelief that something like this could happen,” Cani says. “As a child, I saw this building go up and never thought I would witness this.”
